Innovation Perspectives - September Wrapup

Innovation Perspectives is a new monthly feature to present our loyal readers with different perspectives on a single topic all in one place along with the ability to compare, contrast and discuss them in the comments here on Blogging Innovation and in the Continuous Innovation group on LinkedIn. This month's topic was:
"Where should innovation reside in an organization, and who should 'own' or manage innovation?"
- Thank you to Jeffrey Phillips for submitting this month's topic

hi,
here are some suggestions for next month's topic:
- what do you consider was the most important single development in innovation methodology?
- what is your favourite technique for overcoming occupational blindness?
- what will the next innovation bandwagon be?
- what is the most important unsolved problem in innovation?
- what is the most dangerous current misconception in innovation?
- what one factor most prevents innovation from taking off?
- is innovation a science or an art?
- what product or sector is in desperate need of innovation?
all the best
graham
two more suggestions that occurred to me on the train today:
- innovation management study programs are sprouting up all over the place. (at least they are here in germany.) is this a good thing or a bad thing?
- should companies treat innovation management as a core competence?
